Passport Approved is an internationally syndicated import radio show that airs weekly on the acclaimed Indie 103.1FM Los Angeles, with coast-to-coast syndication at KNRK "947FM" Portland, OR, WCNR Charlottesville, VA and WEQX Manchester, VT and Albany, NY, KCCQ Des Moines/Ames, IA and YrockonXPN WXPN Philadelphia as well as an international presence in Germany (Berlin, Stuttgart and Brandenburg) via MotorFM. The show is creation of British-born DJ Sat Bisla (host and music programmer of Passport Approved), who was previously a DJ at KCRW in Los Angeles (where he now resides) and has worked at a number of other music-intensive radio stations in Central California, including KKDJ "The Edge" Fresno, where he hosted/programmed a weekly import show and was also the stations Music Director.
Passport Approved works with tastemaker DJs and radio stations from around the world, including Kiwi FM New Zealand and Deutschland`s MotorFM. Bisla has also done weekly exchanges with Australia`s Triple M Radio, and also highly-influential BBC Radio 1 (UK) DJ Zane Lowe. Since the show`s inception in April 2004 Bisla has given either US or World Premiere airplay to a wide variety of international artists, including Lily Allen, Arctic Monkeys, Sam Sparro, Wolfmother, Nine Black Alps, Duffy, Ting Tings, Adele, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Crimea, Editors, Bloc Party, The Rakes and many others that have thereafter enjoyed huge success. Passport Approved offers a globe-spanning 360 interactive music experience for consumers, artists and the music industry itself. In addition, the show satisfies a smorgasbord of musical tastes through its adventurous, yet mass-appeal, selection of music, ranging from alternative, rock and hip-hop to electronic, break-beat, acoustic, dance and cool pop. |
